About the Alexia Foundation
The Alexia Foundation promotes the power of photojournalism to give voice to social injustice, to respect history lest we forget it and to understand cultural difference as our strength – not our weakness. It was created in 1991 by Peter and Aphrodite Tsairis in honour of their daughter Alexis, who was killed in the 21st of December,1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. In total. 270 innocent people lost their lives.
