Ashoka, the International Anti-Corruption Conference and Transparency International have teamed up to launch the first ChangemakerXchange in Southern Africa seeking powerful solutions to fight corruption in Africa’s land sector.

The ChangemakerXchange summit will take place from 2-5 October 2016 in Johannesburg in South Africa. In order to participate in the summit one needs to apply online before August 12, 2016.

What is the ChangemakerXchange?

“The ChangemakerXchange is a global collaboration platform for young social entrepreneurs. It gathers some of the world’s most exciting changemakers at summits around the world for exchange opportunities (peer-to-peer learning), co-creation of ideas and cross border collaborations.”

The focus of the Southern Africa ChangemakerXchange are solutions to fight corruption in Africa’s land sector. The summit is not restriced to social entrepreneurs only, but open to variety of young people aged between 18-35 such as bloggers, journalists, intrapreneurs, articists, government employees and anyone else with an interest in anti-corruption.

Applicants must live in one of the following country: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia or Zimbabwe.

The goal of this summit are to create new projects that fight corruption, or boost accountability or integrity in the land sector on a local, national or international level. Teams with the strongest collaboration‐based submissions can receive seed grants of between €1,500 and €2,000 to support the implementation of their new land‐related anti‐corruption project.
