This international happening will take place from 20.-22.03.2015 at the Impact Hub Berlin. Startups are more popular than ever; especially the tech sector is booming. For this reason, the focus of this event are Tech4Good solutions.
What are Startup Weekends?
Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where people with backgrounds in business, tech, social and design can find out if their startup ideas are viable. Participants will have the chance to pitch their ideas, find co-founders, form teams and turn one of their ideas into reality – with the support of experienced entrepreneurs and experts. Startup Weekends are all about action, not just talk.
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of more than 1500 events in over 100 countries and 700 cities around the world introduced by UP Global. UP Global is a non-profit dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, grassroots leadership, and strong communities. They are on a mission to make the world a more innovative and prosperous place, one community at a time. They believe that entrepreneurs are critical to driving a strong global economy and a better world.
They do this by supporting the grassroots leaders who are at the core of every strong entrepreneurial community. What to expect from the Startup Weekend Berlin Social Innovation?
For this particular Social Innovation edition, about 60 participants are expected. On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds, the other half have a business or social backgrounds. This makes it possible for participants to mingle with people from different backgrounds and different skills-sets. It’s an event where people from the tech scene, startup enthusiasts, aspiring social innovators and change makers work together in teams on a product that solves a real social or environmental (global or local) problem.
The event is held in English and will take place at the Impact Hub Berlin. The ticket price includes catering for the entire weekend. Tickets are available on Eventbrite until March 15.
